The formula for ts-PLUS CONTROL™ is based on the following article: "The Central Role of Magnesium Deficiency in Tourette Syndrome: Causal Relationships between Magnesium Deficiency, Altered Pathways and Symptoms Relating to Tourette Syndrome and Several Reported Comorbid Conditions." Bonnie L. Grimaldi, MT(ASCP), Med Hypotheses 2002 Jan;58(1):47-60

Real life parent tested suggestions that work on how to get your children to take ts-PLUS CONTROL™:
"Here's some ideas on taking ts-PLUS CONTROL™ (which may seem daunting at first):
          1. We started with apple sauce and a capsule on a spoon -- swallowing them both together. From there
we quickly went to just swallowing with water.
          2. I paid my son a token per dose which he got to use in a video game arcade on the weekends.
          3. Lately we've graduated to packages of trading cards per week of compliance."

We are very pleased with ts-PLUS CONTROL™. My 11 year son does not enjoy taking the capsules, so he minimizes his effort by swallowing 4-5 capsules at a time. He does plug his nose, though I think it would be easier with his nose open. He fills his mouth with water, then throws the capsules in and swallows."

"Just wanted to offer another suggestion for taking ts-PLUS CONTROL™. Open up all the capsules for the dosage you are giving, empty them into a cup that has a lid, pour in juice or some other flavored beverage, shake it up, add ice, and make it a daily habit with breakfast. This method has worked wonders with my boy, who CAN swallow pills, but just could not get all of them down, too much. We had tried various liquids, powders, pills in the form of capsules tablets gelcaps, etc. Opening up the capsules and mixing into a good-flavored drink works best. And making it just part of everyday routine."

"Hi! Just wanted to join in and say that mixing the powder from ts-PLUS CONTROL™ with juice was the trick making taking ts-PLUS CONTROL™ possible. If we are on the go, I will mix it with cold juice, like they do. It is certainly the easiest, but I find that the powder dissolves better mixing it with very little (about a table spoon) of hot water before mixing it in the juice. For the flavor, I add a teaspoon of powdered sugar before mixing, and a squeeze of fresh lemon or lime juice after. It really helps eliminate the smell, and cuts the taste. Also mixing it with a tropical mix like orange, peach, mango has worked the best for us. Doing it this way made it a non-issue, and just part of the daily routine. After a while of doing this though, I thought he was ready to speed things up. We are not morning people, and it would sometimes be hard to finish the juice in time, since you have to mix it with quite a lot of juice for it to taste good. Now, I give him the three tablespoons of the mix, WITHOUT the juice!! He chases each spoonful with some juice. My son is eight and really into records, so each morning we set the kitchen timer and he tries to beat his record. He is down to 15 seconds!! Although it definitively tastes strong, we both think it is fabulous to get it over with this fast. If he is in no rush though, he still prefers to drink the juice with a snack or meal, but having this option has made our mornings less stressful. My sons tics has definitively improved on Bonnie's program, especially after I switched to her all-in-one capsules [ts-PLUS CONTROL™]. I believe in it and so does my son, and he is really motivated to take his vitamins. I truly hope that your child will get relief too, and then the motivation to "get it down" will come too. I also told my son that he wont have to take this all of his life, but for now he needs it. I wish your family the best."

I have one more suggestion that you can try. It goes down in one gulp and is taken "medicine-style". If your son can swallow a spoonful of liquid medicine then your child can learn to do this:
1.Open two capsules of ts-PLUS CONTROL™ and pour them onto a soup spoon (or one capsule onto a
teaspoon) containing slightly thickened sweetened lime juice or another strongly flavored liquid of your
choosing (you can try tasting different flavors before actually adding the capsule powder). Your pharmacist
will be able to offer good-tasting suggestions and be able to sell you a suitable flavoring and thickener.
Whenever possible try to to use a dye-free natural flavoring. Stevia is a natural sweetener carried in health
food stores if sugar is a problem.
          2. Holding the nose, if desired to further prevent tasting the contents, by gently pinching the nostrils of the
child closed (or letting them do it themselves, give the entire spoonful in one gulp.
          3. Give the child plenty of water or juice to drink.

I have heard from a few who use an apothecary/pharmacy to mix their supplements into a tasty suspension but I haven't been able to locate one that would do this with a non prescription product not purchased at that apothecary/pharmacy. It would be important to check the pharmaceutical credentials of the apothecary if a consumer finds a willing apothecary/pharmacy.

Thanks for your and everyone's help and I'll continue to look for new ideas to help those who can't/won't swallow pills. Please let me know if you have any new ideas to share.
